Advanced Coach the Coach (21 Core CCE)*

CTA’s Advanced Coach-the-Coach is an opportunity to participate in more of the Coach-The-Coach sessions you experienced during class.  This class is designed specifically for trained coaches who would like additional  practice coaching, who want to observe live coaching and discuss opportunities for development and those who want to receive live coaching.  For those seeking ACC or PCC credentialing with ICF, this class satisfies ICF requirements for ‘observed coaching sessions with written feedback’.

Class meets weekly for 90 minutes.  Weekly classes include at least two live coaching sessions followed by discussion identifying areas of excellence and opportunities for improvement.  Each participant will have the opportunity to coach at least two times during class.  Your mentor coach will provide written feedback for each coaching sessions.  Participants will practice using a observed coaching session feedback form to help them experience coaching from a new perspective.  Participants will also have the opportunity to submit pre-recorded coaching sessions and receive written feedback from their mentor coach.

CTA’s Advanced Coach the Coach includes 10.5 hours of live coaching and instruction and 10.5 hours of homework and exercises related to core competencies.

Class participants are capped at six (6) or fewer participants.

FAQ- More about Advanced Coach The Coach
Is this live or recorded? Live coaching sessions take place in front of trained facilitator and live audience… followed by a discussion and break down of what went well, what didn’t work well and…. identifying opportunities for improvement. Participants receive verbal and written feedback from instructors and other participants. Participants contribute their observations, insights and areas for improvement. Sessions will be recorded and available for playback throughout the course.

PCC Candidates ONLY – Supplemental Observed coaching sessions: ICF requires a total of 4 observed coaching sessions with written feedback for all PCC candidates. This course satisfies that requirement by providing three observed coaching feedback during class and one additional Observed coaching session for all PCC candidates that is performed asynchronously. The additional observation takes place asynchronously (pre-recorded session is submitted for review and the student receives written feedback by a trained observer noting the student’s use of the ICF Core Competencies in the coaching session). During this course, PCC candidates submit 1 (one) recording (typically around 30 minutes, no more than 45 minutes). A trained instructor will listen to each recording and provide written feedback on areas of excellence and opportunities for improvement.

Class Format
7 Weeks, Class meets weekly for 90 minutes. 90 minutes of homework each week.
Each participant will have the opportunity to complete Three live coach-the-coach sessions.
Each participant will have the opportunity to receive written feedback on at least three (3) coaching sessions. PCC Candidates will receive written feedback on at least four coaching sessions.
All sessions will be recorded may also be made available to future participants as of the homework, and /or used as examples. Recordings provide additional opportunities for coaches to observe/ evaluate coaching competency and provide insights that help the student grow.

For PCC Candidates only How does Asynchronous Observed Coaching Session it work?
Student records a coaching session (MP3 format only) CTA to provide suggestions on how to record a phone conversation.
Student submits recording (CTA provides email address for student to send recordings).
Trained Observer uses the feedback form and provides written feedback to student on their coaching performance.
Observer shares feedback with student via email.

Who Should Attend?
CTA’s Advanced Coach The Coach is designed specifically for coaches who want to deepen their coaching skills and/or would like additional support and practice as a coach. This course explores ICF Core Coaching Competencies for your specific level (ACC, PCC or MCC) to help you understand and demonstrate each competency successfully. This course is focused on supporting coaches as they learn and grow in their ability to master the coaching process.

PROGRAM DETAILS:
Each participant will be observed coaching at least 3 times. *Participants pursing PCC credentialing will be observed 4 times.
Small and intimate group size learning environment.
Satisfies ICF requirement for observed coaching sessions with written feedback.

* For those pursuing ACC/PCC credentialing for the first time, this course is approved and satisfies ICF requirements for observed coaching sessions.  This class is part of CTA’s Level 1 Program. For those seeking CCEs for recredentialing, this class has not yet been approved by ICF for Core Competency CCEs (Continuing Coach Education). Once approved by ICF, participants will be eligible to receive credit for 21 Core Competency CCEs.

What do you do in a Coach-The-Coach class?

Session 1 (90-minutes)

Overview of materials, tools and expectations. Review the Simple Coaching Model and discuss core competencies. Identify areas for individual growth.

Sessions 2 – 7 (90-minutes)

2 Live coaching sessions. Discussion and feedback to identify opportunities to apply or demonstrate ICF Core Competencies.
Out of Class Learning- Participants listen and evaluate recorded coaching sessions using an observer evaluation form.

Pre-Requisites:
Completion of the Certified Coach Program, Human Capital Coaching Program (or equivalent).
For those seeking ICF initial Credentialing for the first time, this course is required for ACC level and/or PCC level credentialing. This course satisfies the ICF requirement for 3 observed coaching sessions with written feedback for ACC/ PCC level credentialing.
